using Google to create real photo scenery

I've been giving this a thought or two. I've been curious to know if anyone has thought about using Google Earth to create real photo scenery for FSX? I've seen and installed what is considered to be "photo real" scenery. What software would be needed to do this sort of project?

Any ideas, and or thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.   :)
