Default Kingair

Postby macca22au » Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:50 pm

I picked up a nice freeware download that contained replacement [Fine Tuning] sections for the default Kingair and Mooney.  It makes the Kingair much more realistic to fly.

As a result I would like to upgrade the VC in the Kingair.  Does anyone know how to put a decent GPS into the panel, and also if possible a modern autopilot?

With that, and the improved handling, I think the default Kingair would be as good as any commercial add-on.

Hi macca22au,

You seem to be looking for a realistic Kingair with a nicer VC than the default one, right ?

Have you already tried this freeware ?:

The Super King Air made quite a lot of noise here when it was released. It might be worth a try don't you think ?

I really like the Super King Air 300, but the electrical system for some reason doesn't work in my FSX w/acceleration.  All my switches are on but I can't start the engines manually and the nav and strobe lites dont work

Thanks Nick, again.  But no I didn't know of that site and it looks if he has done an even more complete job.

With my lousy filing system, I have lost the zip with the mods I used, but it was far less sophisticated having only replacement sections for Fine Tuning of the Kingair and the Mooney.

I must check to see if Proposal's problems are the same for me.  Certainly only a minimum of the electrics ever worked in the default, only enough for essential tasks.  It was a shortcut build for MS

Nick:  the file I picked up is called "Baron58f" and contains a text document with [Fine Tuning] for the default Baron and Kingair.

It is made by tcfoster@charter.net

I am sorry that I can't recall which site I got it from, but it wasn't AVSIM as there is no DIZ  in it.

The one you recommend looks like a root and branch upgrade of the aircraft cfg. and air file.   I will give it a try
