need illumination about f16 update for fsx

I download the  Kirk Olsson's f-16 2004 and also download the update file for fsx at the 1st page of fsx military    I follow all word in instruction and did so, but I didn't find those .cab files and fail to move them.  after my best trying, I still can not see anything on the MFDs , HUD and other displays.   I need help please. I'v try time by time for 3 whole night.

and second   there are several models with clean, bomb, missles and so on. after I download several repaint textures step by step and changed the cfg file, I can still not see different paint. I can only see different loading models. could you illuminate me ?  thanks alot

but I still can not let MFD and HUD display

I did download the update at 1st page of fsx military and second page Isaralia air force f-16, but I still can not see the HUD and MFD in FSX.
maybe I am nut, but could anyone illuminate me?
in the panel&effect folder, there are 3 sub foolders, effect, gauges and panel. I copy content in effect folder to FSX main effect no question. but how to deal the gauge folder? there are 1 zip file, 2 gauge files and a subfolder dsbxml. I copy the dsbxml folder, 2gauge files and unzip f86gauges to FSX main Gauge folder. another time I put the zip f-86gauges file to fsx gauge, without unzip. all of these try don't work.
could any one help?
and about afterburn I did download DBS taphoon afterburn but it dosen't work also

i did not really read your problem. just that the gauges in general don't work. do you put the gauges folder, that came with the downloaded F-16, into the gauges folder in flight simulator? and for your afterburner, put the downloaded afterburner file into the effects folder in flight sim. hope this helps. let me know.

Bin801,

Below is what you need to do with the Israeli download from page 2.  You may have already completed this procedure, but just in case you missed anything I thought that I would go through it with you.

Download the zip file from page 2.  Unzip that file and then you have then unzip all zip files contained in the original zip file.  Once you have unzipped everything copy the sound folder and the panel folder to the Israeli Air Force F-16 folder (this is the folder that already contains the model and texture folders).  The copy the Israeli Air Force F-16 folder to your main aircraft folder.  After that copy all contents of the effects folder to your main effects folder and copy all contents of the gauges folder to your main gauge folder.

Hopefully this will work for you.

after i did what you told me, suddenly, I think maybe I misunderstood something,stupidly.
wether the MFD and HUD just will be showed in 2D cockpit, won't be shown in VC?
when I load the craft, the  FSX kept showing me HUD is for FS98 and earlier and not support, and so on, kept showing other gauges don't support also. when I try fly, VC is still without MFD and HUD display, but in 2D cockpit they work.
am i right? they only work in 2D?  if not, what may be wrong?

another bothering question, stupid one. please help
I down load several textures in original Kirk F-16. when I run FSX, it just recongnized different models and didn't recognize different textures. How so? how to resolve this? if that is necessary to adopt one, I prefer different texture than different models

Glad that you have got it working.  I only fly this with the 2D cockpit so I have never tried the 3D cockpit, no idea if the gauges work in 3D or not and if they do not work I have no idea how to make them work.

To use a different texture you have to add it to your aircraft.cfg file and this file will be in the main folder for the aircraft "Israeli Airforce F-16"  Open this file with MS Notepad or a similar word processor.  You will see something like

When you add a texture simply copy and paste your first sim info as in the above directly below it to create the next sim.  Change the next sim info as below

[fltsim.1]      note the 0 changed to a 1

model=new   if you want to change the model then change this to the new model folder that you want to use.  This example shows the new model folder is model.new
panel=
sound=
texture=new    this will change to the new texture folder.  This example shows the new texture folder is texture.new

Hope the above helps.  If I did not explain well then go look at a couple of different aircraft.cfg files for aircraft that have multiple textures and you should be able to see what I am trying to say.  I know that the Lear 45 has numerous textures in FSX.

It is always recommended that you back up the original file and keep it in a safe location in case you mess something up and need a copy of the original file.

yes, the gauges don't work in VC

about the CFG file, I made a stupid mistake. I didn't change the SIM=f-16c to Sim=viper
