my own airline

Postby RickG » Sun Mar 02, 2008 2:59 pm

Hi all.  Hope this is the right place for this.  I was wondering about making my own airline, sorta  ;D    What I did was go into the 737-800 folder and called that unmarked one AirRick ( yeah yeah, I'm easily amused) I copied what was written for the other named airlines, so I think that's right. Also added AirRick to the airlines cfg file in the main fsx folder. Now, AirRick is an option when I go in-sim and select it & click details, but I never get called it. Anyone know what else I need to do, assuming I'm on the right track, and it is a do-able thing? Thanks a bunch.
Oh, and one other thing--I noticed in the 737-800 folder, there is no texture 3. That seem right?   Thanks again.

ATC can only 'speak' airline callsigns (or any phraseology) that are coded into the 'voice pack'. It is not a 'text to speech' engine therefore cannot use a new airline name simply because you enter it in the airlines.cfg and/or aircraft.cfg (atc_airline=) file.

**The (English) 'voicepack' is the file

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hmm--wrong answer, Dave, lol.  Ah well, I guess I can still be happy flying for someone else. I may check out that voicepack stuff tho. Thanks very much for the response.
