Problems installing autothumbnail into FSX

Hello,

I have installed auto thumbnail into FSX with no problems until I bought a Saitek x52 Pro.  Multiple joystick functions did not work and I uninstalled the drivers and software per Saitek instructions at http://www.saitek.com/uk/supp/saitekuninstall.htm

Well after going through this auto thumbnail was no longer in my drop down addon menu in FSX and now when I try to install it I get the following error message in a box:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...iles\Microsoft Games\Programs\Auto Thumbnail 2\Setup.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for mor information.

and below that there is another box:

Autothumbnail Setup: Installing

Adding to EXE.xml

then a progress bar that is at 90% or so

below that a button "Show details"


Any ideas what I can do to fix this?  It does the same thing when trying to install aicarriers2rs and that was also installed prior to the Saitek episode.

FSUIPC seems to be unaffected though, it is still listed as an addon even though autothumbnail and aicarriers were deleted and now I can not get them to install.

I hate to reformat my HD and load everything back on just to put a file back on that Saitek told me to delete.  When I went through their uninstall process I was thinking that deleting all of this may not be a good idea and the unfortunate part is that I emptied my recycle bin so I can not even restore what I deleted.
