loading aircraft

Postby yancovitch » Mon Dec 31, 2007 6:02 pm

ok...i tried to find a sticky regarding which aircraft roughly will load in fsx-vista-accel(32bit)....tried some from the fsx download section and gauges were too old and if i pressed accept anyways, some things didn't work ...often the props were transparant, but different backgrounds showed up behind them.....are there planes especially designed for fsx-vista-accel? or are most designed for fsx-xp?
again, at the risk of displaying my ignorance....cheers

A lot will depend on which version of FSX you have. There are so many possible variables now. Many of the aircraft posted in the FSX section are existing FS9 models quickly updated to work in the original release version of FSX & SP1. I suspect the majority of these will be incompatible with SP2 although it's possible some would work with a few simple tweaks. I expect it will be a while before the freeware developers get to grips with fully featured FSX aircraft. From what I can see this goes for the payware outfits too.

Keep an eye out for Alrot's latest Citation X. :-X

Head to the downloads section right here at SimV and download some FSX aircraft.... ;)

Ah, just the chap to tell us which ones display properly in the latest version of FSX + SP2 + Vista. ;)

Ah I forgot about your download problems. It would be a useful exercise though. Should keep you busy for a while. ;)

I can delete my previous reply if you wish. Happy New Year old chum. [smiley=beer.gif]

maybe there should be a separate section for fsx aircraft proven compatible with the latest upgrades....

Even if the description mentioned if it was SP2 , DX9, or DX10 compatible...

not to mention 32 bit or 64 bit if it had anything to do with anything ;D....things are getting pretty mushy...what a challenge! i feel sorry for the aircraft designers....must be discouraging...
