Question about settings

Postby Brando14100 » Sat Dec 29, 2007 5:38 pm

This is my first time in this forum, but I have been playing FS since the 98 version. I have a question though. In FS2004, the scenario startedwith the parking brake automatically on, but in FSX it doesn't. Is there a way to start with the parking brakes on, or at least paused?

When you finish a flight, have shut everything down, set the parking brake, and save the flight. Next time you load the flight, everything is off, and the brakes are set.

Alright but what if I don't load the same flight?

You need to have a saved flight with the engine off, brakes set, otherwise all aircraft will load with engines on by default.

Load the saved flight, click Fly Now, then change the aircraft and the airport to suit you.  A bit of a nuisance but no great hassle.

After all the default flight, that silly power glider, starts you in the air, in flight.  If you change the aircraft you are still in the air, in flight.  That is the most bizarre scenario of all.  So loading an aircraft over a saved power off situation is not so bad.

The alternative is to set up a flight with a default aircraft with its engine running, then close it down, and then load another over it.  Same difference.

After a while you will have a lot of saved flights, different aircraft, different airfields, with the engine off, to allow you to choose whatever arrangement you want.
