VC rain effect is back :)

Postby Daube » Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:14 am

Hi all,

I just forward the information. Take a look at this topic:
http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az= ... &mode=full

It seems that by copying the CV*.* textures files from FS9 to FSX, the VC rain effect works again for the FS9 planes in FSX. No lck for the FSX default aircraft, though.

Of course, the famous rlvcrain.zip is still adequate.

i find the FS9 rain effect for most aircraft traveling at over about 130 knots to be very unreal. perhaps on taxi or at very very low speed they are ok but for high speed cruise flight - no way - cruising in an airplane at such high speed the water droplets tend to gather around the corners of windows or around wiper blades. often what you get is a streak of water - not a glob or massive droplet.

i think they did great with FSX by removing them.

just my humble opinion though.

Try the rlvcrain.zip like I mentionned.

Yup, I agree.
BTW, If I remeber correctly, FU-1 modeled this fairly well way back then. ;)
