And on to London.  I hope the enterprise is going well.  Surely you need to make a visit to Australia?

John B, please be assured that we know who NickN is and what his place on this forum happens to be.  However, many of us see his contributions as vital in our understanding of FSX.  Frankly I would have abandoned X a long time ago if it hadn't been for Nick, the late Miltestpilot, and two or three others who gave substance to these boards, and hope to those with fewer technical skills.  I have always operated on accepting personal responsibility for what I do with the advice offered, and I hold neither Nick or SimV responsible for the many stuff-ups I make.

So what have I learned. I did not know that nVidia had a beta driver out.  I will now install it - and as FSX is the only game that I play I have no need to worry about collateral problems.

But I can't see me using the SDK to fix up aircraft.  It is beyond my competence, so I guess I will now be flying those aircraft that are either made in 32 bit textures, or wait for any upgrades from the manufacturers.

Thanks Nick.  I am sure that another informal Acceleration thread is about to start up that will help thousands get on top of the next steps in this so-called game.

If you have the deluxe version and did install the SDK I can post a 1-2-3 process to change the texture formats... the problem is, you must locate the right texture file by opening them in the tool and checking to see which one has/is the cockpit glass.

Using the tool takes about 10 seconds, finding the right texture takes the time.

And for those of you who are having SP2 issues with older aircraft you may want to see if you are missing textures or if there are textures not loading. That is done by placing the following edit into the FSX.cfg file:

[SCENERY]
MissingLibraryAlert=1
ShowMissingTextureAlert=1

What those will do is post a message on the screen when you load a flight if there are missing parts or textures in the aircraft and scenery. It

Oh Nick, I would love to get your 1-2-3 recipe for correcting texture problems.  Like so many of these problems, once people like me get the complete layout we can do it.  The problem with so many of you who are on top of computing you take intermediate steps in a process for  granted, and incompetents like me can't even get across the first ditch.

Don't keep it simple, just make it exact and systematic.
