If you have Windows Vista, DX10 should be installed by default...One easy way to check is to run the Direct Diagnostic Test...If you have Vista, just type in dxdiag in the Search box that appears when you hit Start...If you use XP, use the Run feature...Just type in dxdiag.exe and it should fire up...It'll list your DX version at the bottom of the main page...If you don't have DX10 installed, you can download it from
here...I am not too sure if DX10 works with XP though...Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can provide the assistance ;)
