Remove trees and buildings from approach path

Postby FS_Pilot » Sun Aug 19, 2007 2:30 pm

I am finding a lot of airports in FSX have trees and buildings close to or on the approach path making it difficult if not impossilbe to land normally at some airports (Eg: YTEM Rwy 36). Is there any program that will allow me to remove these obstacles.

Also is there an alternative to Afcad available for FSX?
Thanks FS_Pilot

That's why you practice short field landings over an obstacle... ;D

But nowhere in the real world is a 737 faced with a tree or a building at decision height.  Aviation administrators would close the airport.

It is irritating, and if it was easy to alter I would like to try.

Alrot I couldn't find the utility where you suggested?

But let's get real, obstacles on approach to bush strips can be true, but for any medium to large airfields it sure isn't real.

Yeah today I was coming in way too low at SABA with a tree right in front of the runway.  It was my third approach and I was about 30 feet AGL a few hundred feet back from the threshold (keep in mind in the game there is no PAPI/VASI/ILS).  Rather than climb and nosedive back for a landing, I did a little last minute lane change maneuver to avoid the tree.  I landed still banked, but in one piece and finally on the ground.

What do you mean there are no VAsi in FSX. Most of the aiports in Australia in FSX do have them, only some of the really small ones dont. Ir are you talking abt that particular runway.
