FSX and bridges . . .

Postby Xyn_Air » Sun Jul 22, 2007 12:00 am

When someone has the time and inclination, I was wondering if I could get a little help on checking to see if a couple of bridges are present in FSX.  With my current system running FSX at very low settings, I am left to wonder if the bridges were omitted in FSX or if I have the graphic settings for the game are set so low the bridges are not being generated.

Three bridges are spanning the Columbia River right by the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, Washington (ICAO: KPSC).  In all, there should be three bridges: 2 passenger vehicle bridges and 1 train bridge.

If someone with a higher graphic quality capable install of FSX could do a fly-by and tell me if those bridges are included in FSX, I would be very grateful.  The Tri-Cities were my childhood home and my parents still live there.  My father often flies in that area with his friend who owns and operates a fully restored Cessna 170.

Thank you for your help!

EDIT:

If you do see the bridges, could you, please, also let me know what settings you are using in FSX so that I can try and correct my settings as well?  Thanks, again!

Pause your flight near one of these sites.

Then use Alt to get the menu bar up, choose Options, go into settings,

then:  push your complexity and autogen sliders to the right.

Unpause to get the new scenery into the memory, make a jerky move forward, Pause again, go into spot view and look for yourself.

Then put the sliders back, and keep flying.

You will see the fantastic world of autogen that this CPU hog of a game denies to so many.

Wow!  I can change the graphics' settings while in-flight?  Without having to exit to the set-up menu?  Cool!  I may just try that!  If it doesn't completely kill my system.  Thanks for the advice, Macca!

In the meantime, I would still be more than happy to hear from anyone willing to do a fly-by of this area  to check on those bridges, if anyone ever becomes so inclined.

Thanks!
