Looking for Helipads

Postby Rudderbutt » Sat Jun 30, 2007 11:04 pm

Can anyone direct me to someplace in the FSX world that has a number of helipads in close proxemity?
I'd like to try hopping from pad to pad (like a big metal bee).
I tried New York even with the scenery settings high.

Hmmm...as far as I know, there are actually none in close proximity. There is one helipad in Tokyo but thats all I know of.

theres one airport in Seattle, either Tacoma or Boeing that has two helipads, but they're merely painted on, not the platform type...

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack

Well,

plattform hopping around the world could be hard.
Also there are some oil rigs you can use. Try Dubai or Abu Dabi UAE, direction to  Katar. You will find them after 20 or 30 min flight.

I'm also interested in off-shore oil rig landings as well.

I don't know if it has a landing pad, but there's a oil platform off the coast of Houston, TX. Start at Pierce Field, 72TA, and fly 20 nm southeast.

I've also seen an oil platform somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico flying a King Air from New Orleans, US to Cancun, Mexico. I was at 17,000 feet and I saw a tiny back speck in the water. Went down to investigate.

Hope this helps.

...somebody tried to find the mission-one (the oilrig-rescue; somewhere in the Nordsee, northwest of Rotterdam) in freeflight?!

Re: Looking for Helipads-Thanks all

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
I had a scenery download for FS9 of Eikofisk off Norway.  It had several platforms you could shuttle back and forth from.  Terrific fun.
There was also a download of an obstacle course for helicopters.  It never worked right, but it was a great idea.

I guess I'll have to go learn how to build scenery.........LOL
