I'm going on base tomorrow with an A-10 pilot,  getting a nice tour and some up-close looks at the plane. Not sure what else he has in store but also in a few weeks hes getting me some A-10 sim time  ;D  And BTW, F-16's arnt very special, we get them here alot too if you haven't noticed. We have an entire fighter wing at KTUS. The noise is something you just get used to, unfortunately some people move in NEXT to the base which has been there longer then they have then they complain about the noise....  ::)

And you'll be by to pick me up when???  ;D

Yeah, Davis Monthan is now flying 800ft higher due to the complaints. But hey, the base has only been around since 1925.  

Geez, I can remember the F-105s, F-4s, KC-135As, F-16s and B-1s based at McConnell AFB. Now there's some noise for you.  :o

My uncle flys F-16s in Alaska at the moment (visiting on Monday for 10 days  ;D ) and while he was at Cannon AFB I was able to use the F-16 sims there,  unfortunately I was 8, too short for the HUD and crashed on landing. Wasn't too bad, my mom crashed upside down  ;)

And back on topic:   The southwest is an amazing place and FSX unfortunately didn't represent it very well.  I was driving down a road here looking at the mountains surrounded by desert plants when it hit me, I get to live here... wow. Sure some places the plants dont try and poke you with pointed things, and most animals arnt venomous , but hey its what we live with and I think its great anyway  ;D  Maby someday a FS will do better, but for creating the entire world I think they did just fine.
