It's great to see NickN back in the fray.  Nick what size is the boat, did you use the Inshore Passage, where are you now?  And lots of similar question.  And is this time-consuming crew member young, female, human and blonde?

Alrot, it is of little use to you I guess, but I have installed and activated my FSX many times, certainly more than three times and never had a problem.  We do have good international phone connections from and to Australia, but I would hate to have to activate over the phone.  I am sure there are others who can advise you, but if you are on dial up, maybe there are some accelerator utilities that you can get for free on the net.

It looks great but my CPU is having problems with the night lighting and the road traffic which is now on all the side streets. There are a few scenery glitches hwere and there like one pond I saw sunken but I understand they are collecting a list of all the glitches and making a patch

Some people are having trouble with load times because of the roads. I dont have any load problems, just the extra cars tend to bite my CPU

Now that's a man to respect.  In Australia a vessel that size would cost a bomb.  Sounds like NickN is seriously well off, and good luck to him.  And a boat that size would attract crew of the right age, gender and energy.

Like you I look forward to the specifications of the new hardware to come soon.  It would be good if NickN's recommendations can be posted, as I would like to follow closely down here, down under.  And like you I have been married so long, that I know I will be lectured, but likely to survive the upgrade with an upbrade. (that'll test your English lit)>

My boat is 6.1metre, about 20 ft.  Talk about feeling inadequate.
