taking off

Postby coreservers » Thu Jun 07, 2007 3:01 pm

I have a couple of planes that I have a problem taking off with.
My sidewinder throttle is fired up to full and brakes off, they run along the runway, but never attain enough speed to rotate, sometimes the nose wheel lifts, but a crash is inevitable.

The models are
canadair argonaut
Douglas DC8.
is there a key for a power boost or is it just the models dont work properly. all the other planes work perfectly.

Try setting the flaps to somewhere between 10 and 20 degrees, run with a bit of nose up trim (hold the nose up trim button for 4 - 6 seconds). get on the runway and hold the brakes. full power and release brakes, pull back and leave the ground when you can.

oh one more thing, check the loading of the aircraft, you might be carrying a million pounds on board without knowing it... i find that some of the loads for these planes is unrealistic in the default setting. so you might try to eliminate a bit of cargo or passenger weight.
