Post installation problems.  No Panel or brak

Postby gypsymoth » Mon May 28, 2007 7:41 am

I have just installed FSX in a Dell laptop - an XPS M1710 (XPS+SP2/Intel core 2 cpu T7400 @ 2.16 GHz 994 Mhz/2 GB Ram/Nvidia Geforce GO 7900 GTX ?512 RAM) and with quite high settings I'm getting 20 FPS or so at Heathroww/ Seattle with road traffic/ships,etc, turned off,eg, & higher rates elsewhere.   I am very pleased with performance on the whole & surprised that this laptop is doing so well.    I have a couple of questions though, & I hope someone with more knowledge than I have right now, can help me out.

1) Aircarft appear after selection on the runway with brakes not applied & already rolling.  How do I fix this?
2) Brakes do not slow aircraft up after landing.    Fix for this?
3) I installed  CamSim B787 & the panel is aliased to the Bombadier CRJ 700 but that doesn't show, so I installed Marco Spada's 787 panel but that isn't showing either!!???

Thanks,
TW

cdub420:

ha ha, you called s hit "c**p"  ;D

Thats was really useful, and oh so funny.......

gypsy:

(1) Load a scenario, plane, airport, time etc..... make sure the throttle is all the way down, parking brake on, autothrottle off, save it and select `default scene` or whatever.  Then each plane you load will hopefully be based on this apart from the changes you make.

(2) This depends on the aircraft, some need the max brakes adjustment (though max is for emergency landings, but a high setting for a short runway etc....).  Speedbrakes may need to be set where available and reverse thrust used til below 60NM.

(3) This depends on two things, correct line in the panel.cfg similar to the following, where the bold part must match the name of the folder exactly.

[fltsim]
alias=Bombardier_CRJ_700\panel

Secondly, the aircraft.cfg should have a line that resembles the following

panel=

If the panel is not called panel but say panel.camsim then this has to be reflected in the statement as follows

panel=camsim

where only the bit after the dot is used.  I have several versions of that plane installed and all are working.
