except for a few eye candy options... FS9 is just as good  ;)

Yeah, but gone are the eye cancer days of FS9 autogen and inaccurate rivers & roads.

I think my FS9 is going to die this weekend.

Yep lol

Monk

The story is about an obsessive compulsive detective, obsessive compulsive disorder is not a mental handicap in fact some sufferers of OCD may have an entirely ordinary IQ or they may be a genius by comparison to you or I. (OCD runs in my family, my great uncle had it about as bad as the detective in the show!)

appears that "Monk" has a knack for figuring out crime scenes because he is so obsessive about things being in order when he sees things out of order it seems to instantly make some sort of sense about how it came to be disorganized.

now i digress - no intent to hijack this thread...

as far as Heritic's post: I agree FSX is 100 times more accurate when it comes to terrain depiction. as i said in other posts, rolling hills and valleys that surround my home airport are nowhere to be found in FS9... but they are depicted with frightening accuracy in FSX. Yes, as good as FS9 is, and will remain to be for years to come, FSX does have a lot of little details that FS9 lacks i will agree with that.

the later cards are generally better.

but word on the web is that even when ATI are realeasing their DX10 card(s), nVIDIA will, at roughly the same time, release budget DX10 cards, along with the new SLI2.  I think.

So nVIDIA might takeover the DX10 race, might.

Go nVIDIA!!!

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack

With the improved memory management and other things in Vista, yes it may run better on Vista. 2-5fps diferance. HOWEVER, on single core systems with 1gb or less memory it may run slower.

My verdict: WAIT till DX10 cards are out. Get one. And get Vista with that card.

SLI2

Doubt there is and ever will be a 'SLI2'. Just newer Chipsets, and improved scaling with DX10.

So nVIDIA might takeover the DX10 race, might.

Unlikely. On the high end of the scale ATI will beat the 8800. Low  and mid range it should be close, but I heard ATI is going 65nm with there midrange cards. 65nm would be a dream come true for me (I have a WEAK power supply, and I am SICK of these stupid 240watt cards)  ;D However, as usual ATI is going to be late.

WAIT till DX10 cards are out.

Were you locked away the last few months?

Look what card I have.

And yes, it's a Dx-10 card.
