On the sea .......... well that's the most direct answer.  ;D ;D ;D

Try Juneau Harbour if you like Alaska..... Round Seattle you have Kenmore Air Harbour and Seattle Seaplanes. There's plenty of other water runways. The other alternative is to goto an airport that you know is near the coast and slew to the water.

I had this problem, I planted it on Waddingtons runway and found to my dismay it didn't move.

Start in the water - otherwise you crash into it. Choose a lake or sea start - they are fairly easy to spot in in the create flight menu - It's worth noting the engine controls.

& don't forget to move around the boat - into the different rooms. It's quite a creation! I've never seen anything quite like it. (Ctrl/Shift & Backspace/Enter combinations - see Keyboard commands under Help)

i found that if you slew towards the water, it puts you right on top of it and so if you 'unslew', you crash. try climbing slightly by slewing slowly, the it should work, did for me :D

Good info - thanks - but I tried slewing (to/fro/up down/)  to what looked like the perfect position - right in the water at a good level - & crashed on all of my (about) 6 attempts. The only way I could succeed was to start as a float situation.

If you can give more details about what height to 'drop' or 'rise' from that would be a great help!

Well here is another way to move that old boat in the water. Go to the MAP  on the World Tab and drag it into the water using your mouse. Works find for me.

After slewing hit F1 to put you at ground/water level. Always worked for me.
