Direct x9?

Postby Tchkinjiu » Sun Nov 26, 2006 2:57 pm

I may be behind the times, but a quick question.  I noticed that under microsoft downloads, theres a couple options to upgrade direct x9.   I was about to download it, but I'm not sure if I have it or need it already.   Is there a way to check which version I have; as well as figuring out if I need it?  Thanks

when you will install the Direct x9 update it will automatically detect if it's already installed on your computer or not.

If you are running FSX you not only have directx 9 you may have direct 9c already in your system, because FSX wont work unless you are working with winxp SP2 and D9c is already there..

any way as  M.R.Maiornikov saids if you try to install an update of d9, wich is already there, the system will tell you without problem  8)

Quick responses, thanks guys. And good point by Alrot, but I'll still try it  :)

On the 10th of last month, M$ made available some additional files to direct 9. maybe it has something to do with the release of FSX?! ???
These files seems to have something to do with graphic rendering....

What you can do, if you want to know your exact Direct X version number, is going into your start menu, run, type in "dxdiag" then press ENTER.

You will get a DirectX popup with the exact version number :)
