Wing spoilers problem.

Postby dim1309 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:55 am

I have a BAE 146-200 (Avro RJ-100) by Eurowings and I recently replaced its panel with Matthias Lieberecht's (great) panel. Everything works fine except the wing spoilers : They only deploy just a few inches up and that's all. Since this is obviously due to some incompatibility between Lieberecht's panel and Eurowings' design, I would be very thankful to anyone who can give me a hint on the necessary changes needed (panel or/and aircraft cfgs, perhaps) in order to fix this incompatibility. Thank you in advance !

small question, what was wrong with the Eurowing's panel? (just asking so that I know to change it out too if there are too many problems)

There is nothing wrong with Eurowings' Avro RJ panel, of course. It's just that it is not as realistic as Lieberecht's panel. He was a commercial pilot and he used to fly the Avro RJs. So he developed a FS panel for every version of the aircraft. It took him ...years to finish it. Which is not such a long time considering that he gathered the feedback of ...all his fellow Avro RJ real pilots who accepted to test the realism of it. It's a tough panel to learn but I think it is rewarding... :)

is this the panel that you are having problems with.. in regards to Spoiler functionality? or is it a different one?

Capt.Propwash, first thank you for your response.
No this is Mathias' ARG panel group. He writes that the Avro RJ is very different to the Avro ARJ. So, following his note (and, since the textures I have are for the Avro RJ) I downloaded and installed this :

I'll take a look at the panel.cfg and see if there is anything that I can pick out about the spoilers.

when you hit the / key, the spoilers do not go all the way up like they should?

in the Aircraft.cfg...

look for section [airplane geometry]

under that section look for ..

spoiler_limit           = 45                    //Degrees
spoilerons_available    = 1                     //Spoilerons Available?
aileron_to_spoileron_gain = 3                   //Aileron to spoileron gain
min_ailerons_for_spoilerons = 10                //Degrees
min_flaps_for_spoilerons = 0                    //Minimum flap handle position when spoilerons activate

I dont know if your section will show that... I took this information from the default B747-400 so.

But you might be able to play with these numbers to get your spoilers to go up a little further.

I might try to start there while I am trying to look at the panel.cfg to see if i can see a control function that would control them. ... If anyone else has any other ideas of something to check/look at, feel free to chime in.

Nothing, Capt.Propwash...
Changing the values in these entries has no effect...
I suppose there must be some changes in the particular gauge (it is a XML gauge, so I suppose I will need a XML editor which I must learn to use it...).

to learn XML, try the website http://www.w3schools.com/ (left side pane, 3rd section down.... "XML TUTORIALS".   you can also learn a lot of other things like HTML, XHTML, and a lot more that I really dont feel like typing, but are in the left side pane)

as for the panel itself, i have gone over that panel backwards and forewards, inside and out, and have found nothing pertaining to spoilers.
