Leave it to M$ to say there's a problem but nothing about the cause or solution. Bastards!!!

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Have you tried reviewing the Event Log to see what it says?

Start/Run and type in eventvwr

It may reveal what file could not be read.

nothing there about flight sim 9 or X.   BTW, X will fly just fine, but for whatever reason 9 will only come up with that error.

After uninstalling, I tried to open the E:/ to just look at the FS9 Main file, and then my computer said something along the lines of "THIS DRIVE IS NOT FORMATTED, DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT IT NOW?" (YES) (NO)

so, I restarted the computer and Windows started saying there were BAD SECTORS in E:/MICROSOFT GAMES/FLIGHT SIM 9 and that it was rewriting the bad sectors with (NULL)

restart...

Bad Sector in E:/MICROSOFT GAMES/ROBOT ARENA (same)

restart

Bad Sector in E:/MICROSOFT GAMES/Star Trek Armada II (same)

hmmmmmmm, this made me think i have bad sectors on my external drive.  .... So i Booted into SAFE MODE and retrieved all music/pictures/major files that I want to keep and I am about to REFORMAT the external drive..... then do a TOTALLY CLEAN REINSTALL of FS9&X.

There goes my weekend.  :-/ :'( :'( :(

Just curious why you want to use FAT32 instead of NTFS?

cheers,
Joe

Hi, NTFS makes more efficient use of the hard drive, if you want to use your hard drive over various OS's such as going back to ME, (no I'm not in a museum but I was on PC's as far back as the early 80's) keep it at fat32 as win ME for example can't read NTFS formatted drives.
