FS9 Night lighting time..

Postby f-16 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 7:56 pm

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the time when FS9 turns on the lighting at airports, etc.

Many times I land at an large airport at night and the airport lights (terminal, taxiway etc.) are not on. :-?

What I need is the lights to come on shortly after dusk. Is there a way to make any adjustments to the CFG? Perhaps there is a tool to adjust this "lights on" time?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Scott.

I'm sorry that I can't help you with this, but now that you mention it I'd like to know too. I thought I had seen a few airports were the lighing will be off at night, but turn on during an ILS approach, but I can't swear to it.

In the real world airports that have lights but no control tower a pilot simply uses his radio tuned to a special frequency and keys the mike a couple of times in quick succession this will turn the lights on and they will turn them selves off after a programed time which can change from airport to airport.
To my knowledge there is no way to do this in FS usually the lights will come on as soon as the time switches from daylight to dusk and this will change from place to place just like it does in the real world. 8-)

I also asked around and the folks that responded all think there is nothing which can be edited - i.e. the switch time is hard coded into the sim.
