...mmm....firstly let me say that I have no real idea what your problem is.......BUT I can give one piece of advice which is, if this is affecting ALL your aircraft then stop looking at aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg files for an answer......... :)

These files are for the actual aircraft for which they are designed and no amount of tweaking  could affect any other or all of your planes.

There are actually three vc light effects files in the main effects folder. various aircraft use different ones.......look in there and see if you have them........don't really see how they could have been deleted or corrupted unless they have been overwritten somehow by a download but have a look anyhow........removing these from the folder does have the effect similar to the one you describe.I just tried it.......

Sorry nothing else to offer just now........commoner ;)

Microlight,
Didn't work.  In my C182S, in vc mode the lighting reflects off  the vertical windshield posts and you can see a glow on the door panels and ceiling.  Panel is totally dark.  Really frustrating.

Replace the file fx_vclight.fx in the effects folder with a new copy from Disc #1  Ms Game1.cab ....this may be missing or corrupted.

....without that file the c182s VC panel will probably look like this..........can't see any other reason for your problem...commoner ;)

Hi Stu..we're all glad to help out here.........we'll keep you to that promise to help too.OK.. :P

And btw...don't forget that not all aircraft use that file....there are two more in that Game1.cab which are used in other planes for lighting the VC panel.........if you have trouble with other planes look them out .....commoner... ;)
