Editing braking attributes...

Postby avoidz » Wed Oct 29, 2008 6:20 am

Hi, could someone tell me how to edit the braking attributes on a particular aircraft? It's the Moyes Dragonfly by Christopher Hardt. For some reason it is very difficult to slow down or stop this ultralight.

Thanks for any help :D

As downloaded, the Dragonfly doesn't have any brakes...

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Do I still need to change something? Sorry, I'm not familiar with changing values in this game.

Change the 2 values in the [contact_points] section that I highlighted (in red) above.

Also, as I mentioned, you may have to reduce the toe_brakes_scale=

It worked, thanks!

Just one more question on the same aircraft (Moyes Dragonfly): does it have flaps at all?

Cheers :)

...another useful tip I use on aircraft which do not have them....

Differential brakes:

[brakes]
parking_brake = 1               //Parking brake available
toe_brakes_scale = 0.68    //Brake scalar//  I'd try it in  0.02  increments.
differential_braking_scale = 1.0  // rudder activated differential brakes

...useful for tight turns using the Rudder controls... :)...!

F...G-BPLF...(taking a break)... ;)...!
