Another Scenery Problem

Postby akka » Wed Aug 27, 2008 9:47 pm

I downloaded a Kuala Lumpur Airport scenery WMKK from ASVIM two days ago. The name of the file is project KLIA. The scenery is very nice comparable to those made by the Japanese and it showed up all right when I launched FS9. However, when I tried to explore the airport in my Boeing, it CTD when the plane just came off from the taxiway from the main runway. It happens no matter which taxiway from the main runway U use. The module that cause the crash is the g2d.dll which means the ground rendering module cause the crash. My first thought is that there must be some conflict probably with the terrain mesh calculation. Anybody has any idea or know how to solve it? :o

Hi Akka..I downloaded the scenery you are having trouble with and have trundled round all the taxiways for quite some time but can't get it to CTD.

I actually didn't mess about installing the text to the scenery.cfg as stated but installed it in the usual way through the scenery library..which adds the text to the scenery.cfg anyway............

If your g2d.dll was faulty then one would suppose that your other airports would have problems and if the scenery was incompatible with that file then mine wouldn't work :-/

Can't see what is causing that CDT but try uninstalling it and then a new download installed via the scenery library....commoner :)

Hi Commoner

I have uninstalled it and then tried reinstalling it but still the same thing. Checked the scenery.cfg file and found out that there is nothing wrong with the configuration. The layer# are all in sequence and that the area# is also in sequence. All the rest of the parameters are exactly the same as the other areas. I thought that it might be duplicate AFCAD files and tried to search for duplicates but there is no duplication. Downloaded another AF2 file from another source for WMKK and the same thing happened. I then tried to remove some of the blg files in the scenery but thing got worse cause I can't even get to start fs9. So I throw in the towel and uninstalled it and just install a new AF2 file. The airport looks very fs9 default except there are some new skybridges but it works. No more CTD!!!

Also tried the two different versions. The existing and future but CTD for both!!! >:(
