Problem with Saving flights, Help?

Postby Jersey Flyer » Wed Jun 11, 2008 3:11 pm

So this all started about a month ago, I saved a flight in Mid-Air, and when
when I went to go load it back from the "Select a flight" menu, when I clicked on the name that I saved my flight as, it just loaded the default Cessna 172 at Seattle Tacoma Intl. Now every time I save a flight, when ever I try to load it, it takes be back to Seattle. Can anyone help me please?

I don't believe saving the flight while flying makes a difference. I have noticed the symptoms you are describing occuring when I make certain changes to scenery. It's a pain to set everything back to the way you like it, but you might try deleting and rebuilding your FS9.cfg.

Thank's for the advice, but i'm kind of a newbie to that kind of stuff. Could any one give me tips on rebuilding the FS9.cfg?

is there any other alternative?

You don't have to rebuild it- if you delete it, the program refreshes it on startup. Sometimes it gets weird errors in it, and just deleting it then starting FS9 again clears that up.

So if I were to delete it, would all of the planes I have except the default ones be gone?

I don't think so because the planes are in the airplanes folder and their texture and in the textures folder, so it should.

If your worried just back up all your add-ons ;)

Deleting your FS9.cfg will NOT make you lose anything but the settings changes you've made. For example, if you assigned a special key command for something, it would be set back to default. (All settings will be set back to the way they were when you first installed the sim.) After deleting the config file, the sim will generate a new one. No addons will be affected. (Your default flight will be the same Cessna at Tacoma, just like before. Only this time you may be able to save flights again.)

Ok, sorry for not getting back sooner.

It should be C:/Documents and Settings/"your account name"/Application Data/Microsoft/FS9

Now, for you to ba able to see the "Application Data" folder, you'll need to go to folder options  and click the "show hidden files and folders" option.

If you dont know your account or username do as follows:

Click on 'Start' then 'Run' and type in the following:

C:/Documents and Settings/%username%/Application Data/Microsoft/FS9

That will take you where you want to go on any OS :)

You can also type that into the address bar in windows explorer and click on Go.
