It looks like I can't copy/paste my config file here.

Tell you what I think I'll do. I'm going to change the name of the airplane, call it something like ;
"Grumman Panther" and then reload it and type no at the question box and see if that works.

That's more difficult than it sounds.

Thanks one and all for your help - I give up on this project.

I'm through trying this airplane.

If you're absolutely certain the file you found is fs9.cfg move it to another location like your desktop to back it up. Then fire up FS9. A new CFG should be written giving you the chance to answer No when selecting the aircraft.

Maybe I am not finding the correct FS9.cfg.

When I open up FS9 I have among other folders, a folder called config. When I open this folder, I have among other things three folders as following: Config.js, Config.css, and ConfigSupport.htm.

No where in here do I have FS9.cfg.

I have opened control panel and under folders have checked :"show hidden files and folders" so it should be showing up shouldn't it ?

Let's go back to ground zero, and tell me where to look for FS9.cfg.
If I can find it - then maybe the problem will be solved.

Please bear with me on this - patience is a virtue  so they say.

[quote][quote]My operating system is Vista if that means anything. On my old "ME" operating system I could search for files by name but that doesn't seem to be one of my options on Vista.

Took me a while the first time I had to find it. Once I did find it, I found myself tweaking it more and more, so I made a short cut to it, like Commoner suggested.  (can be very helpful.)

Happy to hear you got it sorted out.

..well thank goodness for that..........glad you got sorted and maybe this has helped a few more to do the same.......... ;)

I have no doubt though that within a very short time there will be somebody asking the question " where is my fs9/fsx. cfg please?". ........commoner ;D

You are  right Commoner - there will always be a few of us dummies around. That's why we need experienced guys like you  to keep us straightened out.

Maybe someday someone will write a book "Flight Simulator for Dummies" and that take some  of the load off.

Again, thanks for your help.
