Preparing a Readme

Postby Sean_TK » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:58 pm

Hey guys,

Hopefully within the next few days, after I receive the necessary authorizations, I will upload my MFO repaint of the Huey that I featured here. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1205887461

I was wondering if you guys could take a look at the readme and let me know if you think that I should change anything. I am trying to be sure that I don't cause problems for anyone, so suggestions to this readme will be appreciated. This release is not guaranteed yet because it is dependent on the authorizations I get, but hopefully we'll see it soon.  ;)

THE README:-----------------------------

-----

Thanks for downloading my Multinational Force & Observers livery for the Bell 205/UH-1H!
(TEXTURES ONLY!!)

This is my first paintjob, and although the quality is probably much lower than what most simmers are used to, I hope the basic presentation of the paint will suitably fill in this gap in the Huey's operational history.

-------------------ATTENTION------------------------
**This livery of a US Army MFO UH-1H is created from a UN livery by Matteo Arrotta available at most major flightsim sites under the name ab205_unfil.zip. Yellow warning band color tone extracted from Robert Norling's Swedish SAR Huey paint. Red-Orange body color tone extracted from Kirk Sunley's OH-58 repaint named usarmy_58_263.zip**

This livery only works with the Bell 205 model created by Deane Baunton and modified by Roger Norling under the name Bell_205_Swedish_Airforce_Hkp3.zip.
-----------------------------------------------------

Just copy the "texture.mfo" folder into the aircraft folder of the Bell 205, and copy the following text into the aircraft.cfg, replacing the x in the [fltsim.x] section to the next available number.
Example: fltsim.0, flightsim.1, flightsim.2, etc.

----------------------------------
[fltsim.X]
title=Multinational Force & Observers Bell 205
sim=HAF UH-1H Rescue
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=mfo

description=Aircraft Designed by Deane Baunton. Repaint by Sean Karges.
ui_manufacturer=Bell

ui_variation=MFO
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=22521
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=
prop_anim_ratio=-1.76

Again, this is my first repaint project, and I realize that the quality is low compared to most other liveries out there. I just wanted to fill a gap in the Huey's history.
As such, I will NOT appreciate recieving emails saying how poor my livery is, and/or how something is inaccurate.
If you do not like this livery for any reason, delete it!

Enjoy!

1. No need to say about how you think it is low quality, that will just put people off. From what I saw in your shots of it, I actaully think it looks quite good quality - stop putting yourself down ::)

No contact information listed, how am I supposed to tell you if I find it somewhere else  :-?. Perhaps include an email address (e.g. a hotmail account specifically for this purpose). ;)

Other than that, a very thourough readme as far as I can see, great information on how to install etc.

Regards,

.......agree with Celtman re the put downs.....let others judge the quality.......otherwise it's excellent.......

 I suspect and hope that you will have already done this, but PLEASE do a practical run through of your installation instructions........ie make sure it works..........so many have typos etc........

Good luck.....commoner ;)
