FS9 crashing with 9 dragons installed

Postby FS 2004 Captain Liam » Tue Jan 29, 2008 6:27 pm

FS2004 keeps crashing if I fly anywhere near Kai Tak >:( >:(. I downloaded the (rather large) file from flightsim.com and installed it and I go into Fs9, eager to see my new detailed scenery. I take off in my Cathay A340 and get to about 4000ft and *horrors* :o :o FS9 minimizes to desktop and closes ??? :-? :-? . Can someone help me out with this?
A snail walks into a bar and the barman tells him there's a strict policy about having snails in the bar and so kicks him out. A year later the same snail re-enters the bar and asks the barman "What did you do that for?" :-)

Are you sure the scenery is installed correctly and it couldnt be conflicting with the default scenery?

I know a 1.1 patch has been released today for 9 Dragons, I don't know what it does but it might be worth taking a look ;)

Hi Liam,

Sorry about your problem.  Sounds like a "rare" issue that has creeped up after release of the original version.  We are just about to release 9Dragons V2 which will fix that and the good thing is the new version has an auto-installer!

Thx for your patience....

It just was made available at AVSIM.  Not on their front page until tomorrow but is in their new files section.

Interesting thing, I nerver had a problem with 1.0 or 1.1, but when I approach V2.0 my sim crashes aswell. I'll roll back to V1.1.

So, what am I missing from 1.1 to 2.0?

Cheers,
Fabian

Have you made absolutely sure that v1 is completely uninstalled? v2 might be conflicting with v1.

I thought so...., could have missed some rests of V1.0 in some subfolders (\world\scenery;\\world\genric....).

BTW: I hate autoinstallers....., I like to see which files are going.

Cheers,

I know what you mean but at least 80% of support questions regarding V1 we had were down to people not doing the manual install properly, hence the autoinstaller you now have.

So, what exactly was the problem? One of the best manuals / readmes included --> read --> think --> do it --> done.

It's a so well documented package other packages/sceneries can only dream of.....

You've hit it on the head yourself, people were not reading the manual as you have! They just wanted to jump in and ended up missing vital files.
