Alright guys look at this line
[Views]
VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=COMPASS_PANEL,20,21,22,23,24,62,25,26,THROTTLE_PANEL,GPS_PANEl

now look at this line

[Window02]
file=Overhead.bmp
size_mm=904
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=2
visible=1
ident=COMPASS_PANEL
Notice the reference to the COMPASS_PANEL then look at the line above notice the numbers after the word compass_panel this is the order they are placed  which in this case the overhead panel is being displayed first .Also notice that this window is visible I would suggest you turn it off by changing the 1 to a 0. then you should be able to display it by pressing shift + 2

Gary. I think the example you posted is from the FS9 version of the panel. This is not the one we're talking about.

This edit brings it in front of the panel with Shift3 but like commoner said, the panel OH icon doesn't work but what the heck!

[Window02]
file=OVERHEAD.bmp
size_mm=755
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=1
visible=0
ident=OVERHEAD//_PANEL
window_size= 0.755. 0.470

Odd  :-/

I assume the problem is with the icon in FS9. I'm not really familiar with this type of panel with an overhead window but is this particular icon used on many other panels? It appears to be a default icon but it's the first time I've seen it.

Yo Hagar....I don't think it's the default icon as I've never had this problem with it elsewhere BUT I will substitute the default one with another to see how it goes.  Watch this space.

22.40 - I replaced the default icon with the one from Ken Mitchell's 7e7 panel but the o/h still appears the wrong side but putting "//panel" back restores it in front.

Hi Terry. I'm probably talking a load of nonsense but if deactivating the icon fixes the problem on this particular panel then the icon would appear to be the cause of it.* I'm not suggesting that using a different icon would do the trick.

Hi commoner here..awake at last but no fix available yet I see  best is as I said take out the icon.

I love these problems cos even if a fix isn't found, well, it's not life threatening is it.......just fun....

As I have said who needs flying.......no time for that.........commoner ;D

...now ...back to that overhead thing........ :-/ :'( >:( ;)

Well I am now convinced like Hagar it is with the icon...don't know what is the problem.........but the FS9 version gave me the clue as the ident (which determines which icon is used) is not the OVERHEAD_PANEL as it is in this problem panel........I have replaced that icon with the default CLOCK icon was is not in use here and changed the ident to 270 which I found is the right one to use........

 If you can live with using the CLOCK icon to call the overhead then fine...if not then I have no other "fix" to offer.........commoner ;)

Here's the changes...I just Remmed out the unwanted gauge but remove it and renumber the gauges to suit if you want...

Rem//gauge95=SimIcons!Overhead Icon, 3,594,15,15
gauge96=SimIcons!ECU Icon, 17,594,15,15
gauge97=SimIcons!Clock Icon, 3,594,15,15

[Window02]
file=Overhead.bmp
size_mm=752
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=2
visible=0
ident=270
