...if the plane is blown a bit off the ILS localiser then wouldn't the autopilot compensate?...and will someone please tell me why the localizer would be DELIBERATELY set off the runway?.........and also in conditions when the runway is not visible (it happens) if you can't trust the ILS to be on the runway then what do you do ...apart from brown your trousers..........commoner

Being a VFR sort of Pilot, always flying General Aviation Props, (none of that fancy, fly-by-wire, jet propelled, Cigar-Tube stuff!), if the Runway was not visible, Air Traffic Control would seriously wonder why I was flying anyway, and divert me to a more suitable Airfield...for a good-old roasting!...

..But it is a fact, that in all my GA Aircraft, I always switch the Autopilot OFF well before reaching the Threshold, and fly the aircraft down manually...AP off....wheels down...re-trim...
...most/all of my on-line, General Aviation, Multiplayer Chums do the same..
