fs9  does not start

Postby osvep » Fri Dec 14, 2007 12:19 am

After installing a new plane fs9 opens the usual window but after a few seconds seemsto interrupt the process and a little clock remains visible even if the orange light that indicates the work of the hard disk die out .Seems as if any file is missing and the opening of the program  is imposible. Then I press alt crtl spr and close the program. I remove the new plane with no results...  :-[ anyone can help (I have 100 planes installed... :'(

Which aircraft started this problem?

I've found that a lot of problems where Fs9 will crash on startup can be fixed by rebuilding the Fs9.cfg  Look for it here: C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9. Look in that folder for FS9.cfg and move it to your desktop. Now try starting the sim. It will rebuild the config file. You will have to reset all your sliders and assigned keys. If that doesn't work you can move the original back over the one Fs9 just created. It's an easy quick fix. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but nothing harmed if it doesn't.

Thanks by your advices I will try to explain the solution I found in my clumsy english and my even more clumsy understanding of the technicalities of pc and software...1) the plane was a CRJ 700  verona by Barry Blaisdell.Probably I made a mistake because I dont use the Winzip recomended in the readme. As I havent
that program I extract with XP application. So I saw 3 folders Aicraft  gauges and effects .The content of aircraft folder was a folder crj etc and a folder Fsfsconv or something like. Then I move the plane to fs9 aircraft folder and to the same location the fsfs..folder.The installation was not the same as Barry indicated so something go wrong...Before reading the replies I correct (?)the problem by eliminating the plane and a file named FS9.exe.mdmp that was mentioned in the error message of Microsoft. Then I scan for antivirus with adware free wich found a trojan and then I start xp in safe mode /depuration option. Now fs9 works well even if continuing with a slow starts .Perhaps the advice of
moving fs9 was the proper one but I dont use it Thanks a lot  :-?
