Guys,
Seems that I still can't sleep well... :)

Sorry Ashar, I "hijack" your thread for my descend issue with POSKY 744.  ;)

I flew B744 POSKY EVA Air (it is B744 v3, isn't it?). ATC cleared me to descend from FL310 to FL180 about 110 nm from destination. Weather clear. No wind.

As usual -and looks only happen with me- the bird descends like a falling broken-rope elevator box, although I have set the throttle to idle during descend, but still the IAS stays at 310-320 knots!!!
I passed 10,000 feet, and was forced to use spoiler to gain 250 knots - with the consequences of nose pitch up to 5 degree.
Autopilot is engaged till 1.5 nm before destination.

I just feel this is not right.

Can someone advice me what is the best and proper practice?

Thanx.

Ari,

Yes, I've noticed this - it's still there with the new V4 - and have had to use the spoiler myself. You could try amending the fuselage drag properties in the primary aerodynamics section of the .air file, but you might need to do a little balancing with the thrust afterwards to maintain the thrust/drag/lift relationship. For your own use, this wouldn't be a problem (make backups first, if course), but don't try to upload it anywhere as a fix, or those Posky dudes will be on your tail.

If you have the collapsing nose gear problem, use the updated FDEs that have recently been posted on the Posky website - this cured the problem for me.

;)

Hi Micro..

Thanks for the advice.
Yes, collapsing nose gear also become my problem, and just downloading the FDE files while typing this post.

Too bad, eh..the symptom still occurs in V4. :'(

Frankly, I have never edit the .air file and fell I don't have any knowledge how to do it. Then, no worry about POSKY guys  ;)

-considering to buy PMDG-
