FS9 wont run after reinstall

Hi guys,

HELP!:o Had a few problems with some of my aircraft and no matter what I saved as my default flight I always started in a Flogger at Dubai so thought I'd reload the game but after a full reinstall it doesn't want to know . The intro shot appears, the screen goes black, my cursor appears in the middle of the screen twice as big as normal and the machine then reverts back to windows. Have tried running in safe mode and resetting defaults in Start menu but the same happens for both. Anyone had the same problem/have an idea what I could do to get off the ground again??

Hi Ian. Are you sure you did a full uninstall/install of FS9? I suspect some of your old files are in the new version. It might not work but the first thing I would try is to delete fs9.cfg. Then fire up FS9 & see if that fixed it. If it doesn't work there's no harm done.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your help. Tried that but the same happened unfortunately. I did do the full uninstall by inserting disk 1 and selecting from the menu that appeared, choosing to remove all saved files and settings too.
