Strange sound with 737 Experience

Postby MarcoAviator » Tue Sep 13, 2005 11:06 pm

I just downloaded the 737 Experience version 1.1 and all I can say is, I wish I had found this before I dumped a bunch of money on PMDG.

True that PMDG is probably more realistic and feature rich but I don't care. 737 Experience is just awesome.

Just one problem though: whenever i lower the last 2 stages of flaps I hear this strange continuous noise that doesn't stop until I reset the flight. It doesn't matter if I lower the flaps or not ... it just keeps going and going ..

Anybody has experienced this? (if you have the 737 Experience that is).

Did you figure out a way to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi Marco,

I don't think it's anything to do with the plane itself - more likely to be a feature of the panel that you're using with it. Does this sound appear with any other panel that you use? If not then it might be a sound that's specifically associated with a gauge in the panel.

Which panel are ou using?

;)

Humm ... good point.

I am using the default panel. I didn't change it.

There is also another annoying sound, usually when you are climbing, or descending. Kinda sounds like the old fashioned cash registers, when you ring something up, is the best way I know to describe it.....but I agree with a freeware plane like that who needs payware... 8)

you were right. It was the panel.

I downloaded the Marco Spada panel and that's where the problem was.

I commented out the following lines

//gauge55=fpda_gear_sound,  597,392,10,9
//gauge56=FPDA_Gear_Wind,  597,392,10,9

in the [window00] section and the sound went away.

Ace!

thank you!

Just thought I'd chuck in that looping flap audio is an extremely common problem-if you want to fix it on the fly without changing the panel or resetting the flight, all you have to do is hit q twice ;) (toggles sound on and off)
