Flight Tips!

Postby Tchkinjiu » Wed Feb 02, 2005 12:01 am

Gah! These things bug the crap outta me. Flight tips, or something along that area. They pop up to tell you if something is wrong. I don't understand how my altitude gauge could reset itself to the wrong altitude so many times in one flight.... Anyone know how to turn them off?

And....

For some reason, every one of my 'F' keys dont work, from 1-12. But every other key does... anybody have any gesture as to this? Thanks

..Yup..Turn em off...you might need to know when the Brakes are on or the Altimeter needs resetting though and they will be turned of too..the altimeter probably wants resetting for the airport you are going to land at....they are all at different altitudes don't you know ;)

Do the F keys work in other programs or is the problem just FS? If they don't work at all in any programs you might need a new keyboard..commoner ;)

Actually you do need to reset your altimeter periodically during a flight, as the barometric pressure does change, and just because you check the barometric pressure for your destination doesnt mean it will still be the same by the time you get there. So every time ATC gives me the baromoter reading, I just hit "B" and it is taken care of....Unless of course you are flying above FL180, then it automatically stays at 29.92, until you descend below that level  ;D

Don't forget to reset that DG ("D") from time to time, also... they precess. I usually hit mine every time I reset the altimeter, or whenever I check my heading.  As to your question about F-keys, here's my gesture  ;D: I'm scratching my head. Seriously, i think it may be a bum keyboard, but I'm not sure. No hard feelings about the "gesture" wisecrack? I guess you meant "suggestion", yes?
