Worst Frame Rate Ever!

Hi, after removing the 9.1 update in an effort to reclaim my frame rates, im still strugling. Heathrow is the benchmark, and im now getting 4fps!!!, unless im looking into the sky lol.  I think i may need some help in configuring my graphics card. Please help!

My system is as follows...
AMD Barton xp2600 on an Asus AN7 Delux MB
128 Radion 9800 pro, over 1gig of 3200 ddr and a 80gig hd.  Case cooling is avarage!

Google "FS9 Tweaks" and there will be a rather lengthy list of websites that offer suggestions on how to improve frames.

Do a bunch of them, and you'll see a tremendous improvement.

Doing tweeks isn't gonna solve that problem!

Was it running better before you installed the Patch?  The patch had no effects on my FPS at all really.

Try loading DXdiag and checking all harware exceleration is turned on.

With that setup and the machine setup well I would think you could be running medium/high settings, with anti alias and anistropic filtering on too.

Need more background info as to what FPS were previously and have you installed anything else lately?

Gixer, yes it was running better before the patch. I only added the patch as i have add-ons, which i thought due to me removing some and adding here and there, the directory would become messy. I am also using Ultimate traffic.
As for the dxdiag i really have no idea what that is. lol

Your system should be kicking excellent frame rates out.  I suggest using task manager and seeing whats running in the background.  Then, whatever you determine is not essential to the running of FS go into msconfig and remove it from the start-up section. Then, go under the applications tab and click to hide all MS apps.  Anything there not related to the sim should be disabled.  After that, do a defrag then re-start.  Set your ATI settings all left for performance and then start FS9 and set all display settings to minimum.  Then, keep turning up from there til you balance your frames with your visual needs.  If none of that works, you may have to do a complete un-install. Then reapply the patch.  Run FS and set all your settings where you want them and get a base line. If you have your usuall performance, start re-installing your add-ons and checking after each one and see how it goes. Maybe one of your add-ons conflicts with the patch.  Good luck and keep us posted.

FSAutoStart is great because it restarts everything when you exit FS.  So  he shouldn't have too much to worry about.

You didn't happen to install Win XP SP2 as well did ya? I haven't done it yet nor FS9 patch. I am still into 26FPS and enjoying my FS experience. Other friends have complained of really slow performance.

Hi people! My pc very old - amd duron 950mhz, ge force 2 - 32 mb and 256sdram, and fs 2004 still works fine! Just ease a bit on the settings

Jord, I never get to play on-line. I have a router with hardware firewall and I have never been able to use the zone or any on-line flying.
