Aircraft without functioning landing lights

Some of the aircraft - specifically the add-on models - do not show landing lights.  Is this a function of the aircraft file, or is it something in the basic FS9 program that does not connect with these add-on aircraft?
             Any suggestions as to how this might be remedied will be much appreciated.

Thank you. Specifically, the Westland Lysander from Icarus Gold.  This aircraft has landing lights in the wheel pants that turn on - even turn on in sequence, for realism - but there is no light showing on the tarmac or the terrain.  Furthermore the commands to raise, lower, and traverse the landing lights do not work on this aircraft.

I have had troubles in the past with those damn self-installing downloads!

If I'm correct, the lights shining on the ground/runway are built into the model. Nothing you can do about it.

Thank you. I was afraid that was the case.  That will save me many frustrating hours of tinkering.
