Hi everyone,

I am new to this Forum.  What a great website!!!

Just one question.  How can I download certain files to work with FS2004.  Files I am refering to are water effects, increased lighting on ground and explosions and crashes etc.  Where do I place these files in the FS2004?

Thanks. ;D ;D

Hi FBI, welcome to SimV. Once you've downloaded the files unzip them into a temporary folder somewhere convenient on your PC. Then just follow the instructions in the readme file and drag the files into the appropriate FS9 folders.
It'll tell you (in the readme) where to put what files, and hey presto ;)

Happy flying
Ozzy :)

Exactly what Mark says.
My advice, give one a try then if you have a problem, ask a specific question. There are many knowledgeable people here and I am sure you will work through any problems or questions you might have!

Welcome!!

One more tip. If this involves replacing or overwriting default files take a backup copy of the existing files first. This could save a lot of problems later, especially if you don't like the effects. ;)

The thing that made my life a lot easier was to spend about 20 some odd bucks on a program called ADDITPRO2004. Now i let the program put everthing that i download in the place it is suppose to be. Hope this helps a little. They also have the same program for 2002. 8)

I also highly recommend AddItPro.

It takes the drudgery out of installing programs in Flight Simulator.  Support has also been great.  I have had several computer crashes in the past few months.  A new download of the program requires a new unlock code and I have always received the new unlock code within 24 hours.

Good luck.

Thanks for a great Site!

I for one would stay away from any of those programs.
And what ever you do dont download straight into FS2004. I would make a seperate folder in which to down load anything for fs into. A lot of zip file use folders with the same name as the ones in FS and if you unip these into fs it could cause some headaches.
The easy wasy is not always the best way.
