AI Aircraft for TTools

Postby leecuisines » Thu Feb 01, 2007 8:27 pm

Hey all,

I got FS2004 yesterday and installed Traffic Tools today and have made a couple of flight plans that work with both default AI and downloaded AC, but I need some aircraft specific for AI but compatible with TTools to save framerates, can any of you guys help me out?

I have downloaded one plane from PAI but it didn't show up so I'm assuming it's PAI only?

Also, where can I get callsigns for the aircraft, so ATC refer to them by their Airline/ Callsign rather than the flight number? There are some on PAI but I'm guessing they aren't TTools compatible?

(I have had a look through the last 10 pages of this forum but there's not much conerning TTools AC.)

Thanks, Lee

It looks like your first post here didn't get a lot of replies.
May I duggest searching SimV and google for 'ai aircraft fs2004'
I use Ultimate Traffic for my airline AI_traffic; UT uses PAI models.
For GA planes I use Henry Tomkiewicz's AI
California Classics has many FREE AI models with flightplans
Hope this helps.

Hi Lee,

Any properly installed ac, including PAI's, can be used with Traffic Tools. It only needs to be properly entered in the 'aircraftxxx.txt' file and a proper flight created in the 'flightplansxxx.txt' file. The TTools help file explains in detail.

For the callsigns, FS has a fixed list of airline callsigns it recognizes. Check here for a list of default recognized airlines. You can add many more airlines to the list using EditVoicePack.

For ATC to use the callsign you must:

-Make the proper entry in the 'aircraft.cfg' file, [fltsim.xx] section, 'atc_airline=xxxxxx'. The Aircraft Container SDK is a good reference to have on hand when working with the 'aircraft.cfg' file.

-Set the F/R entry(s) in it's TTools 'flightplansxxx.txt' flightplan to F (forces atc to use airline callsign/flight #).

Another good tool to have when working with ai is the Traffic Toolbox SDK. It's 'Explorer', available from the flight screen menu, helps you to see/locate ai flights at or scheduled for your airport location.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
