while they are flat they also dont overdo things and lets face it fsx default textures suck there are parts of the ground that would appear flat black while others are bright green ....
the only simple solution i think would to not try to simulate vegetation with dark/black blobs but instead allow the grass to be grass and allow the user to choose his or her ammount of vegitation and shadowing
i also like the speed trees at any altitude over 50 ft they look good ... but if your just taking off... eghh it can be a bad thing
