Why does every body build a "rc aircraft"??

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Why does every body build a "rc aircraft"??

Postby ...HG_Schulz » Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:44 am

I like this page and i like the MS FS 2004. This is my favorite page if i'm looking for a special aircraft. But im angry about the hole "rc aircrafts". There are to much crafts with out VC and the most of them dont have a panel. I use this Simulator to fly real, not to fly rc crafts. Who is downloading an aircraft with out panel and/or VC??? Those aircrafts are not to use. Where can i get a B52 WITH PANEL AND VC like the default aircrafts??? Or the C 5 Galaxy or the C 130, or an A340-600 in Lufthansa. But thank u for the good aircrafts witch i have downloaded past, one of the best of it was the Lufthansa A340-200 "Stuttgart". I need more like this.

No B52 nor C5 exist with VC under FS.

There are two C130 with VC, one is payware and extremely resource-demanding on the system, the other is freeware, though I can't say where you can find it, having had never a great liking for this plane.

Free A340 with VC are only the POSKY ones, series 200 and 300. For series 500 and 600 with VC you have to search among the payware.

First, welcome to SimV.  Look around, we're a friendly bunch.

I'm learning to design my own planes but I don't know how to build a VC yet.  But a plane doesn't need a VC to fly so it's not very important to me.

When I fly a plane with a good VC or panel I usually turn it off anyway!  I like to see where I am going, I don't like instruments blocking 90% of my view 8)

I'm sorry, HG_Schulz, but you're coming off as rather arrogant to me.

Speaking as someone who has done 3D modelling before (though not for FS), I can tell you that it's not very easy. In fact, it's bleeding hard. Judging from what I've heard, VC's are especially difficult, so I'm sure you can understand why many developers choose not to add them. Now, if you want all your planes with VC's, then I suggest you learn how to make some.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, it's just that it really bothers me when people put down addon developers' hard work simply because it lacks a VC...

Now, to answer your question, the only B-52 and C-5 with a VC right now are the AlphaSim ones, which are payware. As for C-130's, there's a great one by Simshed available here.

This hobby has changed a great deal over a few years. When I first got involved it gave me great pleasure to make up my own custom aircraft by installing the panels & sound separately. This is still possible but everyone seems to want full packages with all the bells & whistles now.

It's all a matter of preference. Not everyone wants aircraft with a DVC which is one reason these "rc aircraft" are still popular. Please don't forget that this is freeware & doesn't cost you a single penny. ;)

...HG_Schulz, I agree with you about not having a panel, it is definitely a necessity (except in cases where the VC is so good, that a panel isn't needed, but that's rare). My statement was in regards to what you said about VC's. Hagar said it best, not everyone wants a VC, and those who do usually don't mind if it doesn't have one.

Also, since it's freeware, the phrase "beggars can't be choosers" applies. ;D

Contrary to what some of you are saying...there is a C5 with a VC...it's Alphasim's one...and it's not that shabby either...just typical Alpha quality ;)

Is it a complete pack??? Just "copy the folder to here and ready" ?? Not "download this and this and this... and than copy this in to there and so on"????

Some friendly advice:  learn how to install aircraft beyond copying one folder only.  You'll miss out on a great deal of scenery, sound packs, great 3rd party panels, and of course aircraft if you can't piece together those elements.  This is not building aircraft:  it's just putting the pieces together in the right folders.  There are tutorials available (many times good directions in the file itself) for that and ample people to answer questions about what belongs where here at the V.

And with the exception of their older aircraft and the a330, POSKY is pretty good-- their 737 series has a custom panel for it and they will point you to good soundsets for their aircraft too.

Good luck finding what you want and learning to install it!
