Project Skyworks is working on a modern flying boat.  It is the Beriev Be-200.  The plane is a Russian search and rescue craft.  It looks like it will be pretty good from the previews on their web site.  Check it out at http://www.project-skyworks.vze.com.

How about any Lake Renegades?  I've noticed there's a 250 and 270 over at fsfreeware.com, but haven't found them anywhere else.  If anyone's tried them, what do you think?

Mike Stones goose, FS2002 Grumman G21 Goose (v2), is a wonderful plane and pretty as a picture.
inre LAKE AMPHIBS, I have a few and like them, but usually only after much "tweaking"

If it doesn't have a hull it may be a seaplane or floatplane but it's not a "flying boat"

Greg Pepper's Grumman Albatros, w/ AF and CG paints.

HU-162.zip here:
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props37.htm

Flys well outta the box, although I have done some minor tweaking to FDE, 2d panel and contact point, (for more realistic wake), to get it just the way I like 'em.  ;)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
