I have decided to (and did) build a fictitious Airport / Seaplane Base on the Island of Vatulele
(Approx S18, 31'30.61" E177, 37'29.40"). Now that I have completed the design in AFCAD (along with some flatten and exclusion commands), I am going about adding some traffic and buildings etc.
Whoa there!!!!! This isn't easy at all is it?
I have succeeded in adding traffic but all kinds of issues now have come to bare. AI traffic is predominately meant to be seaplanes / Floatplanes (a hard problem on its own; I posted a related issue about amphib traffic floating on wheels earlier).Scenery I have managed to place is from RWY12, but I would like better options, I can't get major traffic (Default AI) to visit, Don't really know Gmax or about how to use Scenery Macros... I would like to add some circuits and a couple of moving cars eventually, top that off with signage etc.. not present in AFCAD, and you can see I am drowning!
So, I have decided to go throug with it all if I can! It will be a long road, but well worth it! Maybe I can keep a legitimate log so the process can help others, who knows...
So I put it to all of you well versed designers and code junkies out there... What is the prefered method of begining something like this? I am more than willing to start over if need be, but I would rather clean up what I have if possible.
From a clean slate install of FS9, what are the general steps you suggest?

Regards to all,
Bluehawk
