Tracing around aircraft in gmax

Postby hsvfan » Thu Apr 22, 2004 1:45 am

Hi all
I have the three views of  the aircraft I would like to make in gmax. Is there any other way of tracing around the aircraft shape, other than the method using the box section that  they show you in the gmax Tutorial.

what i usually do when starting a shape from a three-view is to use the LINE tool to delineate the contour of the part.
then, i use that line as a guide to the shape of my new part

after the part is ready i simply delete the guide line ;)

You could also try using a cylinder (with about 10 to 15 sides) and as many sections as you feel necessary.  Then just shape each section to fit a bit of the fuselage.
