W32Time

Postby a1 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 7:27 pm

I get W32Times errors quite frequently now. It just shuts down and restarts the system with a pop up notifying me this. I don't know what happened. What is this error? :-?

This the log entry of the error.

I can't find it in any of Symantec's virus and threats. Is it really a virus? :-?

I don't think this is a virus. W32Time is the Windows Time service. This is used to synchronise time on networked computers. Details here ->>> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307897

There are many types of W32 viruses. I don't think this is one of them. Google for > W32Time error <

Scan finished and no viruses or any other anomaly was found. If it isn't a worm/virus how can I stop it from keep restarting my system and giving me error pop ups?

That is the $64,000 question. Try the link from my previous reply.

PS. Are you using a networked PC? If not you shouldn't need W32Time.

First of all I don't get what all those links tell me. They seem to be targeted to IT pros. Can someone translate to me. :-?
