AH! What's wrong?

Postby Alonso » Thu May 24, 2007 5:37 pm

Hi...

Hope you can help with this :'(...

I have a 2-computer LAN network with a router here at home, so the internet connection is shared..

One is the desktop, running Windows XP Pro SP2... the other one is a laptop running Windows 2000 with all service packs and updates...

The problem is that -recently, I don't know why- I can't have the 2 computers connected to the LAN at the same time. ALWAYS, one of them freezes and I can't do anything but moving the cursor... the HDD led keeps on all time.

Just when I unplug the LAN cable to a computer, the other one STOPS freezing.

I have to reset the router or restart one of the computers and I'm lucky if it doesn't happen again...

I scanned both computers with AVG antivirus and the XP one with Windows Defender... nothing found...

Hope you can help... this really sucks.... :'( :'( :'(

Maybe it's an IP conflict.

Do they have fixed IPs or does Windows assign them?

They have static IPs

192.168.1.136
192.168.1.137

Now what I have to do for them not to freeze is that I have to disconnect either of them and wait for the other one to load Windows completely... then I can connect both (one at a time)

:(

FS Water Configurator+ has new modifications in the works, plus DirectX 10, Service Pack
1, and Radeon HD 3+ Series support.
