I think the NFS series suck nowadays. I want a Ferrari, not a Honda Civic slapped with neon green plastic.

Most racers don't use high end frames...

...they all seem to got Dodge Neons, so you're like "Oh, I can smoke that..." and you get your ass handed to you because the Neon got twice as many horses as your Beemer ::)

Well thats no fun. I don't want to be looking at a disgusting Neon no matter how fast it is.

It's all because of the stupid fast and the furious movies, and now everybody wants to cash in on the trend.

Okay lets get something strait. Yes dodge Neons (I don't care if its a SRT-4 is a Neon) and Honda Civics, or any ricer for that matter is disgusting. However I know quite a few people that have Honda S2000's, Nisson 350Z's, and other cars of that nature that can smoke a Ferrari or a Lambo any day, and time.

The thing is, as long as its not wrapped in vynal or neon, usually they look pretty good, and your more likely to survive in one of them when getting in a crash then in say a Ferrari F50.

Theres the whole cost thing too. I can build say a Nisson 350Z + Engine + Wheels / Tires + Trensmition + Suspension + custom body work for around $90K ~ 110K depending on how large of a turbo I want. The Ferrari F430 starts at $150,000. So I can have a car thats faster, sounds better, and uses less fule for $40K less? I'll go with the Nisson.

Cheers

Thats not really true. Maybe a hyped up Neon or something can out accelerate a Ferrari or Lambo but you can bet your bottom dollar that the respective top speed will go to the super car.

Also the chassis on the Neon won't be built to stand such torques or stresses. I would say that in the event of a crash you'd be safer in the Ferrari because it was designed to go that fast and therefore the designers had to take into consideration the possibility of a crash at high speeds.

Well, that's where personal taste comes in. Why do people buy classic cars when new cars are cheaper, faster, more reliable, safer, and have better mileage? Like when you say it sounds better thats highly subjective. For a $100,000 I find a Ferrari or Porsche much more appealing than a Nissan with a bunch of upgrades, even if it is faster.

Same reason why most of us would rather own a P-51 Mustang than a Cessna CJ1: it's a piece of history. ;)
