Don't worry gunny.....it will be. Between the smoke effects that are suppost to be in the game, to the new lighting, and ofcourse the new mirrored paints, your going to be reduced to low settings on 800x600.

Sorry mate :(

I think the NFS series suck nowadays. I want a Ferrari, not a Honda Civic slapped with neon green plastic.

Well that all depends. Yes I do have a place for the Ferrari 360 Spyder, and the Mercedes Benz SLK in my heart, but Jap muscle (Skyline R34, 350Z, Lancer Evo,) will alwaies be on top.

The smoke murders my comp..... (Obviously) I could always shut the AA/AF off or turn it down.... oh and because of the widescreen monitor I am forced to run 1440X900

Will run Fine Ashar.... Because I can run almost any game from a year or so back maxed out (Except if you add any special effects the card just bites the dust) you have more pipelines! So if not maxed.... pretty close! The NFS games arent too demanding... Cheers, Gunny

a 6800 will do it, I know that...  I cant play games like FEAR, DOOM 3, etc maxed to the bone, but lower end games like NFS I can, Sims 2 I can, FS9 I can.... but if you start throwing in clouds, smoke, fires, and stuff like that, my graphics card is done.... but a 6800GT... That will do fine for most games that are DX9 yet...

For comparison... my HP could max out Rome total war, NFSMW, Sims 2, FS9 at about 80%, and various old games (2004 and beyond) and its specs were:

AMD Athlon 3200+ 1024MB DDR PC2700 Rosewill ram, AGP 8X Nvidia 6200 128MB graphics card with about 280 gigs in hard drives... I ran a 17 inch CRT too, so its safe to say your rig is pretty good yet, or at least until Vista and DX10 come running! Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: That old HP is sitting in a garbage pile somewhere, I stipped it and tossed it

Yea Ash you're gonna be fine. You may need a new card to run 1280x1024 but really other than that your fine.

Cheers
